The surface quality of the plastic bottle cap mold refers to the change of the physical and mechanical properties of the processed surface within a certain depth (that is, the surface layer) after the workpiece is cut.
1) Surface roughness
It refers to the surface micro-geometry error, that is, the micro-geometry features on the processing surface of the plastic bottle cap mold that are formed by a small distance and peaks and valleys. It is mainly caused by factors such as the residual area height of the cutting tool motion trajectory, chippings, scales, and the vibration of the process system during the cutting process.
2) Surface waviness
It refers to a type of geometric error between the surface macro geometric shape error (such as flatness, roundness, etc.) and the micro geometric shape error. It is mainly caused by the offset of the cutting tool and the forced vibration of the system during processing.
3) Surface processing texture
That is, the main direction of the surface microstructure. It depends on the machining method used to form the surface, that is, the relationship between the main motion and the feed motion.
